Oxford, Indiana is located in Benton County and is part of the Lafayette Metro Statistical Area. As of 2010, about 1,200 people called this community home. Oxford was founded in 1843 and was home to the first Benton County Courthouse. Additionally, Oxford is proud to be home to Dan Patch, a world famous harness racing horse whose mile record stood for over 30 years. The barn that Dan Patch called home still stands in the community.

There are a few fun things to see and do in Oxford. Rommel Park offers a playground for kids of all ages, including a 500 square foot splash pad. The Town Square Farmers’ Market is held from 9:00AM until 12:00PM on Saturdays and offers a variety of fresh produce. There are also a few popular restaurants available in Oxford, including the Dan Patch Café and the Oxford Pizza King.

Oxford, Indiana is home to varied weather conditions during a single year. Summers here tend to be hot with high humidity. Average highs during July and August often reach into the upper-80s, but it isn’t uncommon to see thermostat readings well into the 90s.
