About Lafayette, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lafayette is a city located in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, and it also serves as the county seat. This community is situated 105 miles southeast of Chicago and 63 miles northwest of Indianapolis, the capital of the state. As of 2010, the population of this community was over 67,000 residents, showing a 19% increase from the 56,400 people that lived here in 2000. Much of the economy of Lafayette is centered on the activities of Purdue University in neighboring West Lafayette, but other businesses like Wabash National, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, and Alcoa also provide employment to area residents.

Lafayette is home to several great attractions that can be enjoyed by both visitors and residents. Families with young children may enjoy a day at Buccaneer Bay Indoor Aquatic Center or the Columbian Park Zoo, while adults may prefer a visit to the Wildcat Creek Winery or Tippecanoe Mall. Lafayette also has numerous opportunities to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, including Jerry E. Clegg Botanic Gardens and the Wea Creek Orchard.

Lafayette residents will need to have both home heating and air conditioning systems in place to use at various times of the year. Summers in Lafayette are generally hot and quite humid. Average high temperatures in July, the hottest month of the year, reach the mid-80s. However, several days per year will see thermostat readings that surpass 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and on these days, an air conditioner to keep indoor temperatures cool is essential.

While the autumn tends to be comfortable, the season leads into a cold and snowy winter. Average high temperatures in January fail to reach the freezing point, while overnight lows average from 14-20 degrees Fahrenheit during the winter months. An energy-efficient heat pump or furnace can help residents to save money on their heating costs while ensuring their homes are safe when this dangerous weather strikes.
