About Darlington, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Darlington, Indiana is a small Montgomery County town with only about 850 residents. This town was platted in 1836 by Enoch Cox, and it was named for the Darlington found in England. Historically, the Pennsylvania Railroad made stops in the community, although service ended in the 1960s. To this day, you can still see the right-of-way along state road 47, and it also includes several wood-pile trestles.

There are several interesting things to see and do regardless of whether you live in Darlington or you are passing through.  The Darlington Covered Bridge, which is found just over half a mile west of town, is arguably the most popular for tourists, and this 166 foot long bridge was constructed in 1868. The Darlington Library is found on West Main Street, and the Old School Park offers baseball diamonds, soccer fields, a walking track, and courts for tennis, basketball, and volleyball games. Darlington also hosts the annual Darlington Fish Fry & Festival each fall, and the event attracts many visitors from nearby communities.

The Darlington area climate will vary with the changing seasons. Winters are cold, with average daily highs in the mid-30s. Residents need to make an important investment in order to make it through the season comfortably – choosing the right gas or electric furnace. A system with a high AFUE rating will keep indoor conditions warm regardless of what is going on outdoors, and they’ll also help to lower utility costs.

Throughout the summer, conditions often become uncomfortable for other reasons. Temperatures can skyrocket into the high-80s. High humidity will make it feel even hotter, and on the most uncomfortable of days, many Darlington residents will choose to stay indoors to escape the heat. These systems also improve indoor air quality by reducing allergens and dust that circulate throughout a space.
