About Attica, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Fountain County, Indiana, Attica is a city found in Logan Township. As of 2010, the population of this community was roughly 3,250. Attica was originally founded in 1825, and considerable growth was experienced when the Wabash and Erie Canals were completed in 1847. Attica is the closest town to where Paul Dresser wrote the state song, “On the Banks of the Wabash Far, Away,” and a bridge over the Wabash River serves as his tribute.

Attica is a popular place for outdoor recreation and enjoying the great outdoors. Camping is available at the Attica Family Campground and Summers Campground, and dirt bike or ATV enthusiasts may enjoy an afternoon at Badlands Off Road Park. Hiking and biking can also be enjoyed at one of the area’s numerous parks and outdoor spaces, including Ravine Park.

Other attractions are also located within the region, specifically in neighboring West Lafayette. As home to Purdue University, there are several things to do in this community. Popular attractions include French trading post Fort Ouiatenon and Samara, a Usonian home that was designed by world famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

Residents of Attica need to consider their home climate control system setup carefully, keeping in mind that the community will experience four distinct seasons throughout the course of the year. As part of a humid continental climate zone, Attica will see hot and humid summer months and cold, snowy winters. Just as there are many days in the winter in which temperatures are dangerous cold and fail to reach the freezing point, the summer months will see several days in which temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Since spring and autumn tend to be pleasant and calmer in terms of weather extremes, HVAC professionals recommend that Attica residents take advantage of these times to ensure that their air conditioners, heat pumps, and furnaces are operating properly.
